Florence eBinder Suite™ allows you to permanently redact PHI, PII, and other sensitive information within Documents in two ways.
- Single redacted area on a single, current page (e.g., a single area of demographics such as the patient’s date of birth), or
- Propagated redaction of the same area on every page of a Document (e.g., a header on each page that includes the patient’s name is redacted to black).
To redact a Document:
Open the Document and click the "Choose Tool" button to access the drop-down menu. Select "Redact."
Use the cursor to draw over the area to be redacted. It will be fully covered in black to preview how it will look once saved.
If there are multiple pages, you can propagate the redaction to the exact same spot on all the following pages by clicking the "Propagate to All Pages", option at the top.
Click "Save" to make the redaction permanent or "Clear" to delete it. Once saved, a redaction is permanent and cannot be reversed.
Redaction limits some Users' ability to access previous versions of documents. Users with PII permissions (as well as the original document uploader) can view and download previous versions of the document. However, other Users will only be able to see documents post-redaction.
