There are two ways to go about setting up your Folder structure within eBinders.
The first option involves building the structure by creating one Folder/Document/Placeholder at a time. To do this, click on either "Create Folder" or "Create Placeholder" and type the desired name in the box. Click the "Create" button to save it. You will need to repeat this process for each additional Folder and Placeholder.
The second option allows you to build the entire structure at once by creating a template. You can then save this template for use in future eBinders. You may use Excel, Word, or the "Import Folder Template" box in eBinders to build your template.
From your Binder view screen, select the Binder you want to work in by clicking on the check box next to its name. Then click "Import Folder Structure." Follow the instructions below for the method you want to use to import your Folder template.
Use a new row for every item (folder, subfolder or placeholder)
To create a Sub-folder (a Folder within a Folder), tab over to the next column on a new row.
To create a Placeholder, type an asterisk (*) before the name.
To add a Tag place a hash tag "#" prior to the tag name to denote a new or currently existing tag for the placeholder. You can add multiple tags at a time.
To add a Due Date place an exclamation mark "!" prior to the date. Dates should be formatted as "01-Jan-2000" or "01/Jan/2000".
Folder and placeholder names can contain any characters except colons ( : ) or slashes ( / \ ).
Once you're satisfied with your Folder structure, press COMMAND-A (Mac) or CTRL-A (PC) to select the entire template. Then copy the template by pressing COMMAND-C (Mac) or CTRL-C (PC).
Go back to the main Binders page in Florence eBinders and select the appropriate Binder by clicking on its name. Now click on "Import Folder Structure." A pop-up will appear. Place your cursor in the box under "Template" and press COMMAND-V (Mac) or CTRL-V (PC) to paste your copied template structure into the box. Click the "Preview" button. Your Folder structure will appear on the right side of the pop-up screen. If you need to make any changes, you can edit the pasted template in the box and then click "Preview" again to see an updated version.
If you would prefer to edit the Excel template directly, click "Cancel," make your corrections within Excel, and then repeat the copy/paste process described above. Once you are satisfied with your folder structure, click the "Save" button to finish importing the structure into your binder.
In the "Import Folder Structure" pop-up window, click on "Expand Tutorial" and follow the directions to enter your template directly into eBinders.
